Plasman Corporate (stationed in Fort Payne, ALB; or Greer, SC) is immediately seeking a new member to join our team as:

Regional Human Resources Lead, Business Partner – USA

Plasman Group seeks a seasoned HR leader who will be a strategic business partner and will lead the human resources function for five (5) locations, including Alabama, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, & Michigan Sales Office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building strong relationships throughout the business and provide strategic counsel to the US leadership team with respect to employee and labor relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, training and development and HR systems. This position directly reports to the Vice President, Huma Resources & Global Lead

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Act as a strategic business partner to the leadership team, develop and manage the organizational structure for the US Operations that supports the company core business goals as required.
  • Business partner with the General Manager, Southern Operations and General Managers of the US plant operations.
  • Present HR best practices and identify and develop people programs specific to the need of the business in the region.
  • Provide senior HR support services to all US locations including: employee relations, employee feedback programs, senior manager recruitment and development, employee engagement monitoring, escalated employee performance issues, complicated Workers Compensation issues, skipped corrective action levels, appeal meetings, and bringing forward ideas and suggestions.
  • Develop staff and retain a productive group of US HR professionals by mentoring, coaching, and providing performance feedback.
  • Champion and maintain US-wide HR systems, policies and procedures for the US team, as well as through the plant HR resources.
  • Oversee and carry out effective and appropriate communications across the US organization to promote employee understanding of programs, policies, and objectives along with developing positive employee morale.
  • Support the goals and development for HR Business Partners through the championing and support of company-wide programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all Plasman strategic initiatives and local, state, and federal legislative compliance.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a University degree in Business Management, Human Resources, or related field.
  • PHR/SPHR an asset

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10-15 years’ experience in progressively senior HR roles with preference given to candidates with multisite leadership experience
  • Experience in automotive or manufacturing settings and working in a union-free environment is an asset.
  • Generalist background with broad knowledge of employment, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations and training and development.
  • Ability to frequently travel to provide hands-on support at various plant locations across the US, and attend occasional (2-3 times annually) meetings at the Corporate Headquarters in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • High energy level. Comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, develop solutions and make decisions on complex or unique issues.
  • Effective communication skills. Ability to present ideas persuasively and develop extended Company communication vehicles – negotiation, influencing, delivering business presentations, coaching, counseling to engender confidence and credibility.
