Job Title: IT Business Sales Manager

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Duration: Fulltime with Client

U.S.- based Experienced Salesperson for Offshore Software Development

About Client:

Client is a leading offshore software development company based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Client is currently developing software and performing other IT services, generating seven figure revenues (U.S.$) from well-respected corporate clients based primarily in Japan and Europe.

Your Role:

You will generate new sales leads (developed through your existing contacts or networks or by cold calling), qualify potential sales leads, follow up on qualified leads, negotiate and close deals, and maintain your relationship with the customer through and following the sales process.

Related Responsibilities: * Gain knowledge of company capabilities and customer needs in order to determine whether customer needs can be addressed by the company’s services

  • Interact and work with software development engineers and other technical personnel primarily located offshore to develop proposals and offers to prospective customers
  • Develop and implement a sales plan to generate referrals and qualified leads with periodic activity updates to management and other team members which may include:
  • Identifying key personnel at relevant organizations to approach through direct (i.e., “cold calls”) or indirect contact.
  • Attending industry trade shows, professional association meetings and networking events.
  • Executing personal campaigns, activities and processes to build and nurture a network of relevant prospects and contacts; and
  • Delivering compelling sales presentations to IT managers involved in organizations both large and small.

Requirements: * Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Essential knowledge of the software development process for a range of application types
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar, new business development role, especially in lead generation and qualification
  • Strong conflict management and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • High attention to detail regarding documentation and processes
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to perform well in a cross-cultural team dynamic
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and changing schedules
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in all communication with customers

Helpful for Success:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a range of disciplines
  • Experience working successfully with people from different countries where English is not the mother tongue
  • Experience in software or web design, development, and/or deployment
  • Consultative sales experience
  • Experience selling custom software development services
  • Experience working in an IT/product development organization
  • Experience selling B2B services to large organizations
