Job description: As the Head of Sales Advanced Therapies, you will define and implement the divisional sales strategy, positioning it to increase market share. In this role, you will lead a team to drive expansion of business within existing accounts and prospect for new customer accounts within the dynamic rapidly growing market of Cell Therapies/Advanced Therapies. You will lead a team of regional managers and their direct reports and be a member of the Advance Therapies Sales Leadership team.

This incumbent for this position will be based in either the Greater Boston area, Seattle, WA or San Diego, CA.

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • Lead the execution of the sales strategy for the Advanced Therapies Segment in the USA.
  • Lead and develop the team of Regional Mangers. Regional Media Application Specialist Manager and our Digital new customer acquisition team in the US focusing on the Advanced Therapy customer segment
  • Monitor and drive sales performance delivering or exceeding on the given Goals of the team
  • Use analysis of sales metrics to drive activity in the field according to the sales strategy; ensuring appropriate strategies are formulated and communicated to the relevant internal stakeholders
  • Establish strong relationships with external customers and within both Sartorius Divisions of Laboratory Products and Bioprocess Solutions
  • Monitor progress of the pipeline and take appropriate actions
  • Provide segment voice of customer back into the organization

What will convince us:

  • Bachelors’ Degree or higher education
  • 5+ years of strong experience in a sales management role in biopharma including experience in value-based selling.
  • 2+ years of experience selling into biopharma – with cell and gene therapy sales an advantage
  • Strategic thinker with a previous background in driving sales in targeted markets
  • Proven leadership experience in managing sales teams and technical experts
  • Experience of driving new customer acquisition strategies and cross-selling with existing customers across a large diverse product range is an advantage
  • Very driven and results focused
  • Capable of working across a matrix organization
  • Strong team player and relationship builder
