Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, information technology, information communication and technology or related fields.
  • Coursework, formal training or work experience in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Submission of work sample as an application attachment. Work sample MUST show web coding skills (with at least HTML, JavaScript, and CSS) and MUST include:
  • A description of the intent of the sample code, how it works, how it is used, how it was written, and how to make changes and either:
  • Live website URL; or
  • Sandbox URL; or
  • Web files with all required dependencies.

Preferences:

  • Coursework, formal training or work experience in editing PHP templates for content management systems such as Omeka, Islandora or similar.
  • Coursework, formal training or work experience with descriptive metadata schema such as Dublin Core.
  • Coursework, formal training or work experience with UX/UI design.
  • Coursework, formal training or work experience with accessibility standards for websites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs technical assistance and recommendations for all software and systems related to Florida Memory and archives digitization of video, photo, and audio.
  • Creates webpages and edits existing webpages (HTML, JavaScript, and CSS).
  • Writes and edits code to develop and enhance applications to optimize functionality of Florida Memory.
  • Troubleshoots system functionality and data accuracy issues and applies fixes and corrections.
  • Assists in preparing digitized materials for the web.
  • Provides technical assistance to digitizing staff (imaging scanners, photo editors, video digitizers, audio digitizers, etc.).
  • Other duties as required.
