Concrete Finite Element Developer

Remote USA | Boston Preferred

Position Summary:

Bentley is seeking a Finite Element Developer with reinforced concrete knowledge to join the ADINA Product Development Team. The role includes both development of theory and coding of finite element solutions.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Collaborate with a team of finite element experts to enhance world leading ADINA software.
  • Develop theoretical approaches to effectively analyze reinforced concrete structures
  • Design and implement finite element solutions that work within an existing framework
  • Mentor colleagues on behavior of reinforced concrete

Required Experience/Knowledge:

  • PhD in civil/structural/mechanical engineering or related field
  • Advanced solid mechanics and strength of materials
  • Advanced linear and nonlinear software finite element theory
  • Advanced behavior of reinforced concrete
  • Fortran (2+ years)
  • Coding of finite element solutions for analysis of reinforced concrete
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English

Desired Skills:

  • Working with existing (legacy) source code
  • Performance based design of structures (ASCE 41-17, FEMA 273/356, etc.)
  • Software design and common software patterns
  • C++ or other programming languages
  • Parallel computing strategies and technologies (OpenMP, MPI, TBB, etc.)
  • Software development tools and practices (Git, Agile, etc.)
