Bell in Fort Worth, TX has an opening for a Classified Systems Administrator on the Global Security Team supporting aircraft Future Vertical Lift military programs.

Position Summary:

The Classified Systems Administrator is responsible for the initial setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance and health of servers, workstations, devices, and networks across the Bell enterprise classified portfolio.

As classified systems administrator you contribute to the information systems security team using system security management tools, policies, and procedures. You rely on a deep understanding of cyber security, classified system hardening requirements, tools, and procedures to meet Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint Security Implementation Guide (JSIG).

You are adept at using the DISA Host Baseline tools, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and vulnerability scanning to set up and configure secure computing environments that meet customer requirements and expectations.

Responsibilities Also Include:

Perform the role of Systems Administrator for classified Windows and Linux workstations and servers including domain controller, group policy, single sign-on, and other applications.

Build and maintain RMF/JSIG compliant classified computer systems and networks including hardware, systems/applications software.

Install, configure, and maintain security software solutions such as SCAP, Splunk, McAfee, Nessus, WSUS, One Identity, etc.

Install OS and application updates/patches and perform vulnerability and flaw remediation.

Perform operating systems life cycle and configuration management duties for Windows and Linux based servers and workstations.

Support the Configuration Control Board for Change Management and Security Impact / Risk Analysis.

Install, configure, and maintain data backup/restore and contingency/disaster recovery solutions.

Perform maintenance on NAS, RAID, and other devices as needed.

Create and deploy “golden images” for classified computing environments based on government system hardening requirements.

Plan, coordinate and implement secure computing hardware and software solutions to solve evolving customer challenges and requirements

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems on networks and workstations as needed.

Suggest software and hardware modernizations and upgrades for classified networks, servers, and workstations to increase productivity and efficiency, and implement suggested upgrades once approved.

Directly support the ISSM/ISSO on correcting STIG and Nessus findings, performing self-inspections, resolving system and application anomalies, and preparing for customer inspections.

Support classified information system configuration changes to meet NIST SP 800-53 or JSIG Control Implementation, Continuous Monitoring schedule, and CCI requirements.

Support Incident Response and Contingency Plan testing requirements as it applies to the Information Systems.

Purchase approved hardware and software as needed and maintain licenses.

Follow prescribed SOP’s

Will be expected to travel to other local locations as required, up to 10%.

Retain an active Secret or Top-Secret Clearance.



  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Cyber Security, or related field of study is preferred OR at least 5 years of work experience in classified systems administration may be considered equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.

Position Requirements:

At least 3 years of experience in Information Systems Security/Information Assurance, Computer Support, Information Technology, Security Engineering, or IT Systems Administration in US Military / DOD / Govt Contracting environment.

Active USG Secret security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.

At minimum: must meet IAT – Level 1 DoD 8570.1-M requirement for Baseline Certification (A+, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+, SSCP, or above) or be able to gain certification within 6 months of start of employment.

Experience setting up, configuring, and maintaining networks, servers, and workstations compliant with NIST SP 800-53 for collateral spaces and JSIG for special access environments.

Experience supporting various computer hardware platforms and multiple operating systems (Windows and Linux) in both a stand-alone and LAN or WAN configurations.

Experience implementing various versions of Microsoft server and ensuring both Win 10 and Linux (RHEL) workstations are properly configured for network connectivity within RMF compliant computing environments.

Experience setting up, configuring, and maintaining VMWare servers and virtual machines in secure RMF compliant computing environments including special access environments.

Experience with the DISA Host Baseline configuration setup.

Experience installing, implementing, and configuring security software and configuration management solutions such as SCAP, McAfee, WSUS, Nessus, Splunk, One Identity, etc.

Knowledge of various computer hardware devices and ability to perform basic functions inside a computer (add/remove devices, re-seat cables), perform system BIOS changes, and sanitize a system.

Adhere to 32 CFR Part 117 requirements.

Candidate must meet background pre-screening requirements for Special Access Programs.

Must be able to work individually, as well as part of a team.

Ability to excel in a high-paced, multi-tasked environment.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 5 plus years’ experience in Information Systems Security/Information Assurance, Computer Support, Information Technology, Security Engineering, or IT Systems Administration in US Military / DOD / Govt Contracting environment
  • Prefer IAT – Level 2 or Level 3 DoD 8570.1-M requirement for Baseline Certification(s)
  • Linux administration experience is a big plus
  • Network + certification

  • Linux Certified Ethical Hacking / Penetration Testing
