Job Summary:

The Center for Local Government Technology (CLGT) is an extension unit of the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology that provides education, training, research, and technical assistance to state, local and tribal governments, and other public and private entities through multiple programs funded by grants and cooperative agreements. The candidate is responsible for providing administrative assistance and support to the CLGT staff. The candidate assists with the management of the database required for processing all registrations of training courses and conferences. The candidate will coordinate with the instructors and trainers and will assist with scheduling and coordinating training workshops, courses, and conferences. The candidate will be expected to perform other duties as assigned. Employment for all Center employees is contingent upon continuous funding and revenue.

High school diploma/GED and one year of clerical or customer service experience; post secondary education may be substituted for experience. Basic skills in the use of Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Ability to lift thirty-five (35) pounds. Typing on personal computer.

The candidate must have a high degree of knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems; office administration, procedures, and terminology. The candidate must have effective communication, organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills.

The candidate must have a strong service orientation as well as self-motivation, initiative, dedication, and autonomy.

The candidate must be discreet and trustworthy with confidential information.

The candidate must be able to travel with overnight stays ranging from one to five nights per week.

The candidate must be able to operate personal computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment and use personal computers for spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and other applications.

This position is housed off of the main campus and it will be necessary for the candidate to have a valid driver’s license and be able to legally drive passenger cars, light trucks, and vans to commute between the CLGT site and main campus. At times the position may be needed to deliver and/or pick up supplies or deliver paperwork to main campus.

This position also assist with training classes and may need to assist with transportation needs of students to main campus or other areas in Stillwater.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related degree programs.

Three years of experience with local units of governments.

OSU Ambassador Program certification.
